In Search of Winged Friends

I have been captivated by the beauty of our winged visitors and friends wherever we go. I have tried to photograph as many of these beautiful, graceful and flitting creatures as I can - partially to record the perfect image, and to share the best of these with my family members and friends. I have found that it requires much patience, much sitting and waiting, and being ready with my camera. I have also found real friends in the birds around our house - I have members of our Titmouse family land on my head in the Spring-time when it is nesting season to pull hairs from my head for their nest. Then, later when they have young chicks in their nest, they land on my shoulder and very close where I am sitting and talk to me. We have a small family of Carolina Wrens who stay in our garage overnight every night since November of this last year - they come in at dusk, we close the garage for the night, and open it in the morning, and they fly out for the day. We put out sunflower seeds and water for them in the garage - the seeds are gone in the morning. These are just a couple of our bird stories - there are more.
